Many ideas become reality.
Ours become the standard.
With his trend-setting ideas, Herbert Dahm has helped shape the development of yacht construction all the way to the superyacht business. Time and time again, he has devoted himself with heart and soul - and with all his creative ability - to challenging the status quo and has courageously carried on developing. Today, many of his solutions are standard features aboard larger yachts.
For example the stern hatch over which the tender is stowed and can easily be launched or brought on board, and which also serves as a swim platform.
Or laterally curved companionways which guarantee sure footing for guests on board even when the vessel is heeling.
Disappearing tables which create more space in the saloon. Cocktail tables which can easily be converted into an elegant dining table. The double bed which is changed mechanically into two single beds.
A central channel for stowing sails under the bilge. Or the double Schottel pump jet which serves not only as a bow and stern screw but, thanks to its ability to turn through degrees, can also be used as a second means of propulsion.
The list of Dahm's inventions in and for yacht construction is simply endless - and is continuously being extended.
