Jongert 2200s INSPIRATION:
The master's dreamboat.

The launch of the INSPIRATION caused a sensation in the industry. Under Dahm's direction, a new vessel was created which was designed as much for relaxed cruising as for competitive regattas. The term Cruiser/Racer was coined.

Numerous international awards and top places on regatta courses in the Mediterranean are the result of this trailblazing development which, in innumerable details, also bears witness to Herbert Dahm's inventive mind. Today, the INSPIRATION is regarded as one of the few legendary yachts of our age.

Concept and design: Herbert Dahm und Peter Sijm, Jongert
Year of construction: 1985
Overall length: 22 m / 72 ft
Beam: 5,75 m / 19 ft

Special features:

  • First use of a stern hatch through which the tender is brought from the garage on board and which also serves as a swim platform.
  • A steel bow rudder which can be rotated through 360 degrees, thus enabling it to be used for manoeuvring and auxiliary propulsion.
  • Companionways that are curved upward at the side to provide optimum hold even when the vessel is heeling.
  • Bilge tunnel as the central sail stowing space under the forward cabins and bathrooms; consequently no sail needs to be stowed in the cabins during a regatta.
  • Electrical winches, automatic steering gear and state-of-the-art navigation technology mean that, despite its enormous sail area, the INSPIRATION is also the ideal yacht for small crews.
  • Saloon with convertible dining and cocktail tables.
  • Owner's cabin with double bed which can also be converted into two single beds or one single bed and a sofa.
