Dream holidays with a yacht by dahm international

You can choose the yacht, crew, travel destination and much more

Pure amusement: dream holidays with dahm international

Sailing yachts, motor yachts, food and beverages are available for your dream journey

Rest and adventure are the objective.
It all begins with a discussion.

You tell us your ideas – we know all options. This provides the best way of turning a charter voyage into your dream holiday.

Things always begin with a detailed personal discussion in which you tell us what you have in mind and we present our first proposals to you: locations, yachts and crews. We also answer the questions which you are sure to want to ask.

Naturally, you can also find the most important information for your private cruise on our website.

The discussion:

The planning for the voyage centres on your ideas: the more precise the information which you provide us with in advance, the more precisely we can combine the various options to create a solution tailored to your needs:

Would you prefer a sailing or motor yacht? What size were you thinking of? How many people – adults and children – will be on board?
When do you intend to go on holiday? Are you interested in a particular region? Do you have any specific wishes regarding the equipment on the yacht, e.g. special water sport equipment or other activities?
What is your prospective budget?

After receiving this information, we can select the potential yachts up front.

The booking:

Once you have chosen the yacht that you wish to charter, we will prepare the charter contract, which dahm international, as the broker between you and the owner of the yacht involved, will finalise. This contains all the details regarding the yacht and crew, charter region, insurance information, and the terms and conditions and costs for your ship.

At the same time, we will ask you to inform us of your personal wishes in a questionnaire (“Preference Sheet”): your preferences and individual requirements with regard to meals and drinks, special equipment for the on-board entertainment media, and the activities in which you are interested.

On request, the captain of your charter yacht will then draw up a detailed itinerary for you in line with your wishes.

General information:

Port of departure

As the starting point for your voyage, we recommend a port within easy reach of an international airport. Naturally, the captain of your yacht will personally take care of your transfer when you arrive and depart.

Transfer costs

Normally, the charter areas for the season are defined precisely by the owners at the beginning of the year. If your ship of choice is not in the charter area you require or the preceding charter has been booked for a port of destination which is not your starting point, transfer costs may incurred.

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA)

All the running costs, e.g. fuel, food and drink for the guests, demurrage, communication costs, etc. are paid for from the APA. The APA generally amounts to 25% of the charter fee.
During the cruise the captain will carefully account for all expenses and, at the end of the charter, will present the charterer with a detailed statement of accounts and receipts. Any unused APA funds shall immediately be returned to the charterer and, likewise, any shortfall shall immediately be payable by the charterer.

Terms of payment

50% of the agreed charter fee is payable when the contract is signed. The remainder – together with the APA and any transfer costs – is due one month before the charter begins, this remainder being retained in trust by the central agent until the end of the voyage.

Tips for the crew

Whether and with what sum you wish to reward the crew for their work on board over and above the wages included in the charter agreement is left to your discretion. A tip of about 10% of the charter price is generally considered fair.
