This classic sailing yacht has been built in 1948 by Ernst Hatecke shipyard in Germany. Her first owner was Dirk Schlobohm, an entrepreneur from Bremerhaven, Northern Germany, who was owning one of the most successful private coffee factories in Germany at that time. Schlobohm was a passionate yachtsman himself and built the yacht as a real racing yacht, in order to meet with the standards and requirements of regattas: fast, robust and easy to handle. He sailed the yacht successfully in various regattas in the North- and Baltic Sea. In the early 60ies, the boat was sold and served the German Navy as a training ship, before she was decomissioned and retired from service in 2009. The young naval cadets were trained before going on bigger ships such as Gorch Fock. The navy also appreciated the distinguished sailing characteristics of the boat and was regularly partaking in races, which the crew specifically trained for. A demanding issue for both man and boat, always close to the wind and under full sails. Since autumn 2010 the yacht is privately held and berthed on the Baltic Sea.

Berth Description LAYOUT AND ACCOMMODATION

Separated by a door, the owner's cabin is situated between the saloon and the forepeak. The owner's cabin disposes of a double berth on port with voluminous drawers underneath and several hanging lockers and drawers with a small seat in the middle on starboard side. The new wooden mahogany floor panels offer further storage underneath. All catches, hooks, drawer pulls are of brass. A skylight is situated in the middle of the room.

The forepeak has got two hanging lockers for wet suits and safety equipment, a new installed three level wooden rack with boxes that serves well as storage for food, tool boxes etc. and is further accesible through a fore hatch.

Left and right of the companionway there are two single berths, with broad shelves and storage space underneath. The visible restored mahogany hull walls shine in warm deep colour and contrast to the white ceiling panels. A further bunk bed is in the forepeak and two persons can also be accommodated on the saloon sofas where the backsides can be folded up to extend the matress for better comfort.

The galley is located opposite to a big, foldable chart table with foldable stool. The galley itself is equipped with a cardanic gas oven and stove and a sink with a brass handpump and water tap. A big cupboard with sliding doors is spacious enough for all kind of crockery as well as food. Underneath the mahogany working surface a base cabinet gives space for cutlery and pot and pan.

The toilet room comes with a powerful Rheinstrom manual pump WC and a sink with brass tap. Above and behind the toilet a closed locker, shelves and an open locker with a hanging rack allows for storage of any kind of bath and other utensils.

The restored aft peak got a new floor and is a very practical storage for fenders, ropes, tool boxes etc. A new Teak cockpit flooring enables easy access to the engine from above. The engine, encased in a wooden box can also be reached from inside.

The clear deck is nicely framed and structured by varnished deck frames, king planks, along with the varnished deckhouse, skylights and fore hatch.
