26th Club Yachting Life International (CYLI) Regatta
Regatta races, beach barbecue dinner, sun downer in idyllic bay - 11 elegant super yachts sailed “back to the roots” the original track of the first CYLI Event in 1987 from Mallorca to Cabrera and back.
From the 30th of May until the 2nd of June 2013, 80 participants altogether enjoyed the sailing programme starting in Port Adriano with the first race leg leading to the beautiful island of Cabrera. The second leg was scheduled as a round trip of Cabrera plus a short sprint to Es Trenc before the whole fleet headed back to the Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca.
The race days left no wishes unanswered with sunny skies and perfect wind conditions with nearly 30 knots from the Northwest. The 11 yachts between 18 and 41 meters were engaged in tactical manoeuvres during both legs which showed Jongert ITHAKA as overall winner in the Sloop Class, closely followed by the Jongert ICARUS, both 2700M yachts and the 22m Jongert 2200M TORO DEL MAR taking third. In the ketch class, a new Club members climbed the podium: overall winner 34.80 m Burmester Schooner ASCHANTI IV OF VEGESACK, second placed Jongert 20T KEMMUNA and third Jongert 40T INFATUATION.
